Step Number 1 Dealer Surety Bond or Irrevocable Letter of Credit
The State of Wisconsin requires you to obtain a $50,000 dealer surety bond or a $50,000 irrevocable letter of credit if you are just selling motorcycles you just need a $5000 bond

Step 2-Federal Tax ID Number and Wisconsin Sales Tax ID
Before you apply for a Wisconsin dealers license you must obtain a Federal Tax ID Number and a Wisconsin Reseller Permit.

Step 4-Building & Lot
You must have a building for your Wisconsin dealers license. Your business building must be a permanent enclosed building owned or leased by you, The established place of business must be devoted mainly to the operation of your dealership
The building may not be at a residence or in a tent

You must have office space in the building and a 1220 area to display vehicles inside the building and you must have an eterior a display lot with room for at least 1 vehicle and you must display this sign permantley mounted to your building. Your dealerhip name must be at least 4 inches or larger
You must also either have a services facilty on the premisise or an agreement with a service facility and I will show you that paperwork in a moment.

Step 5 Submit your Wisconsin Dealer License Application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportion

Before you submit your dealers license application be sure to gather up the following documents that you will submit with your dealer license application

When you submit your application correctly you should receive your Wisconsin Dealers license in about 30 days.
